Why do they even need a second pick to pull this off =/

if the tigers are willing to take the risk with cousins they would do so even without the second pick, surely on the field cousins will be better than some random kid in the rookie draft who will most likely get delisted in a couple of years anyway.

IVE GOT IT! Lets run over Alan Toovey, therefore asking for permission to put him on the long term injury list..

Then, we hope that the AFL rejects richmond asking to out Polak on it..

We then hope that we are allowed to out toovey on the list, and then we take cousins..

ITS THE PERFECT PLAN.. ;) ;)

A bit hopeful though

I really really hope Tigers pick him up so this crap can be put to bed. I thought most were over it ages ago, but around and around it goes. :|

Good plan Auspie. Just have Toovey walk down the street after Dides and Heater have had a few. Who knows, your wish may be granted!!!

I have some good mail from a insider at a club that has already ruled cousins out. Apparently the coach has not given up and has convinced the board but they will not come out and publicly declare their interest in Cousins because they don't want any other clubs to get a sniff of what they are doing.

At the moment they are in the process of reviewing a contract of another player, if they cancel this players contract then they will promote a rookie to replace this player. It had been said that they were going to pick this rookie in the Pre-Season Draft but this is not the case.

Cousins will not be playing for Richmond unless they use their 1st pick to get him.

Ruling out Cousins was admitted last week.

It'll be interesting to see if the mail is on the money or not. If you're right the media will wet itself when the story breaks. St Kilda? Brissy? Woods? I guess we will have to wait and see.

Ah, gotta love speculation and 'insider' sources. Good to see that you didnt name names, so at least if you turn out to be wrong your credibility isnt hurt too much here like some stupid reporters.

What you have said though doesnt really tell us much except that Cousin will most likely, but not definately be picked up in the PSD

The journos aren't getting anything out of richmond.
All they got was from Jay schulz saying "Ben Cousins is a terrific player."
Danny Frawley is also backing them to pursue the hunt of getting him.
