Everyone wins
Or
Beau Dowler/Mitch Thorp to the Cats for Mark Blake (and pick 72 from Port)
Mark Blake and pick 9 for Surgoyne and pick 72
Pick 72 from the Cats to the Dockers for Marcus Drum.
Deal done twice. And it only took me 2 mins to figure out.
Tidied up with actual draft picks
technically those trades wouldn't work because your not allowed to on-trade a player you have just recieved.
So trade 1 would have to go:
Hawks give Dowler & pick 57 to Melbourne
Hawks give pick 9 to Port
Melbourne gives Jamar & pick 66 to Port
Port gives Surgoyne and pick 72 to the Hawks
so the Demons get Dowler & pick 57, Hawks get Surgoyne & pick 72 and Port gets Jamar & picks 66 & 9.
trade 2:
Hawks give Dowler/Thorp to the Cats
Hawks give pick 9 to Port
Port gives Surgoyne to the Hawks
Port gives pick 72 to the Cats
Cats give Blake to Port
Cats give pick 72 for Drum.
So I think that works out as Dower/Thorp & Drum to the Cats, pick 72 to Freo, Surgoyne to the Hawks and Port gets Blake & pick 9.
major problem I can see with that is the Cats wouldn't want to bring in too many players in trade week. Every player would trade into your side is another player you have to delist for draft day. Cats have shown interested in Drum who may slot into the backline with retirements in the coming yrs, but not sure why they would be interested in Dowler or Thorp - Thorp has spent more time injured then playing, and Dowler is no better then those currently on the list. Considering salary cap might stop them getting Drum I can't see them chasing another player.
If the Hawks want Surgoyne then they will either have to get Port to agree to a trade with a lesser player, or hope that he slips through to them in the psd.
