Ahh, but Lovett may be leaving them, so they should still be about where they are now.. actually I'd say they'd be a bit slower coz Lovett's probably the fastest runner in AFL atm IMO...

Bollocks....

You wanna see Didak move if he hears a police siren! 8-)

Too much. Too dodgy expecting 4 years for around 2.4 mil and if a good pick is given up then only Port and him will gain.

sounds real shifty wanting such a long deal worth so much on a dodgy knee.
sounds like a nice paid knee injury 4 year holiday

I bet you'll be happy with it if he gets back to 100% playing for your guys. He's a top 10 player in the league at 100%

Not at 600k per season... that's more than the Gold Coast have offered Princess Gary... :|

Same thing last year ROK was asking the same, I really doubt Hawks would pay him that much cause it would not only be pissed off supporters but pissed off players who are supposedly on reduced contracts. Heard Bunga Dunstall talking on MMM on Friday night and he was being grilled in regard to the players thoughts about the Hawks agressive trade talks and he indicated(whether it's true or not's another thing) that the senior player group where consulted in these matters and that there were no objections :o

Yeah I heard the same segment on MMM last week... as much as I respected Dunstall as a player, I've got a pretty strong feeling that guy lies through his teeth, or at least twists the truth, about 95% of the time... I'm not saying he was lying in this instance, but I take everything he says with a grain of salt these days...

Don't particularly like listening to MMM when the talk goes in that direction. You have JB, Dunstall and Gary Lyon who are "supposedly" insiders and "know everything" about thier respective clubs, so if any of these clubs are the team of the moment they get grilled about it and the response is pretty much always the same either "No Comment" or "That's a different deparment so wouldn't know about that". So very rarely do they get anything out of it

I wouldn't be happy to pay 200k over 4 years for Burgoyne..

The last thing we need is another injury prone player..... :|

Mate still says he not gone yet and Money's the big reason he wants to move. As port need to cut there salary cap

True. Oh so very sadly true. :(

What I was trying to say is that a bloke who will be 27 at the start of next season, and who is reported to have problems with his knees might not be worth the first round pick Port will want. I hope to christ that the Dees don't offer any picks and just hope he goes in the PSD. But if he doesn't I won't care coz I would rather chase Boak anyway rather than pay the 500+ K a year for four years on a "maybe".

So when Mcleod was 27, would you have wanted Melbourne to have picked him up if he was wanting to leave Adelaide?

When Mcleod was 27 we were a finals side I believe so he would have been a good pickup. I just don't see Surgoyne being worth it to us to take the chance. The Hawks and Bombers are different deals but I'd rather stick with youth at the moment with high picks and see what falls through to the PSD with players like Surgoyne.

Shurgoyne is not McLeod....

McLeod was never restricted to a 9 game season by knee problems.

Actually it was in reference to Burgoyne being beset by knee problems and whether he'd be worth a pick for a team like Melbourne. Mcleod has had knee issues for the last 10 years, if managed properly the player can maintain a high level of playing.

I'd venture to say Ports medical team ranks up there with Richmonds for utter stupidity. When that knee, which they diagnosed as bruising on the bone showed no improvement after 1 or 2 weeks, they should have had an athroscope but they waited most of the year. It's probably fair to say in ports current financial woes, they had to rely on Medicare for the operation and he was put on a waiting list.

Ahh, see I didn't know that. We get pretty limited coverage of the rest of the country here. In fact if you don't follow Collingwood, Essendon, Carlton or Richmond you are pretty lucky if they mention that you played on the weekend.

They're just being polite: it's rude to talk about midget clubs :P

I've had a change of heart. Now think it is unlikely to get sandi and if we can't get sandi I am happy to give pick 9 plus a player to Port.
