We'll give them nothing for Nick Gill and a first round pick 8-)

The cats won't trade in anyone with a pricetag. They'll offload a few for trades, and use their draft picks. They have cap pressure, and they're an aging side, so they need new blood

thanx for that, reading 2 different boards at once and getting myself confused - simple mistake. They would still laught if those deals were proposed.

I agree. The cats are in a pretty good position with their side at the moment. They have 3 or 4 to get rid of, will probably pick up a first round plus 2-3 second rounders and 2-3 third rounders as well.

I like the talk of Stokes going to the Eagles - Varcoe, Byrnes, Hogan, Chappy are ahead of him for the small fwd spot and he hasn't shown a lot of consistency over the last 2 yrs. Trade him now while he has value and we could get a 2nd rnd pick for him, throw in Lonergan if they are looking for another tall fwd to sweeten the deal.

I see Blake moving on, the reports that he turned down a new contract mid year I guess to hold off on more money don't sit well with me for a guy who is a great tap ruckman but inconsistent around the ground. There are teams who will probably be looking for a new ruckman, I would take a 3rd pick for him.

Gamble is an interesting case. After the Lions match this yr I said he was trade bait because he failed to stand up when he needed to and I thought we might get a 3rd or 4th rnd pick for him. But with the talk of a few clubs circling it might raise his value. Tenace is a guy who will probably also move on, or be delisted since he is out of contract.

Cats could end up with a few good picks and generally pick up a few good guys with our 2nd and 3rd picks - great recruitment team.

I wouldn't mind that. But play him back, not forward. The guy's a good KPP, big and athletic, probably has 3-4 good years in him (if he gets a decent run with injuries). Just not a great shot for goal most of the time :D

And I wouldn't trade with Adelaide. They're just out to see what they can get, and if nothing, they'll delist him. Then we take him in the PSD, if we think he looks better than the kid we'd have got at #124, or wherever our last pick is in the national draft.

Looks like Hadley will go to lions for Jason Roe and third round draft. Hadley wants out.

Josh Gibson is 100% gone from North (IMO) - if not to the Hawks, then to someone else... you're not told not to show up at your club B&F if you're on good terms with a club...

The same newspaper has linked Carlton ruckman Shaun Hampson, 21, with Port Adelaide, which is on the lookout for a successor to the retired Brendon Lade.

It is suggested Power coach Mark Williams wants to forward the No.9 pick Port would receive from Hawthorn in a trade for Shaun Burgoyne onto Carlton for Hampson.

Would u wanna get rid of Hampson?? I think pick 9 is bloody good for him!

Hampson and pick 9....hmmm.....that'd probably be a win for both teams, and would mean we'd hold on to Sammy Jacobs.

Big win for us, just because we have the option of elevating Jacobs. Not sure why Port would think Hampson is worth #9, but if they do, then hell, let's grab it!

[It would also redress the balance of trading #11 for McLean (because the more I think about that, the less I like it).]

I think that sounds about right. I personally think Hampson is worth pick 9. He's a massive unit and he can move bloody well. He came on leaps and bounds this year. We picked him up at #18 as well, so I think, especially since ruckman can be hit and miss in the draft, that pick 9 is good for a very solid 21 year old ruckman 8-)

Yeah i think it is a good deal for the Blues, pick 9 should be a very good player with all the talent talked about, but should thin out soon afterwards.

Hampson wouldn't be worth much more, so should be good. Port do a get a very capable, young ruckman with 10 years left in him. I think he is the best ruckman in the country that is that age, apart from Mitch Clark and Hmac, but there a bit older.

Sam Jacobs and Warnock should be competitive enough for the blues interested to see how Warnock goes.

Now all we have to do is pass a rule where SFF members can complete trades for clubs, as long as 1 member from each team agree 8-)

Gee, some real value there. Why even bother? surely Ebert would cost significantly more, and contribute about as much.

Agreed. At least there is the hope of some upside to Nash. I reckon it's all downhill for Ebert from here.
