Yeah, I know there are similar threads like this, but I thought it would be good to have one for any trades that are currently confirmed, or being worked on, or that won't happen... as opposed to speculation about who may go where or about which club may want who...

Keep putting em in and I'll update this OP from time to time if the thread kicks off.... Oh, and post links where available...

**Note - the main purpose of this thread is to follow and discuss what has occured, or what the reports say may occur.. it is not a thread to discuss dream trades or what kind of player each club should go for or what player you hope your club goes for - there are plenty of other threads already available to discuss such issues... so please keep it on topic. :P

Pending

Added 10 Sep @ 5:00pm

Tigers have unofficially offered Cousins a new 1-year contract

Bulldogs have yet to re-sign Lake who is garnering interest from a host of teams including Melbourne and Hawthorn. Melbourne have apparently made a massive offer to Lake for his services - this offer is rumoured to be worth close to 500k per year

Staker has voiced a preference to leave the Eagles, who have agreed to try and find a suitable trade for him. St. Kilda are said to be interested, though nothing is confirmed. Brisbane, Sydney and North Melbourne are also said to be amongst the front runners for Staker's signature

Gibson has voiced a preference to leave the Roos for the Hawks. The Hawks have offered Gibson a deal rumoured to be worth between 800k and 1 million for 3 years - a suitable trade offer still needs to be made

Lovett has voiced a preference to leave the Dons in favour of a 3-year deal elsewhere. Several teams including Hawthorn, West Coast, Fremantle and Sydney are said to have showed interest

Added 10 Sep @ 9:45pm

Peake has voiced a preference to leave the Dockers. No club has shown interest as of yet - a suitable trade offer still needs to be made

PA are chasing after Dean Laidley for an innovation and strategy role, and not as a match-day coach as was originally rumoured

Chris Tarrant has expressed a strong desire to leave the Dockers and return to Melbourne despite having 1 year left on his Contract. Freo have said that it would take an extraordinary deal for them to get rid of Tarrant and as far as their concerned he will be playing with the Dockers next year

Added 11 Sep @ 10:10am

Seaby has voiced a preference to leave West Coast, with Sydney being his most likely destination; trade offer still needs to be made

Akermanis' contract expires at the end of this year. Despite suggestions at the start of the year this would be his last, it is looking more likely that he will get offered another 1-year contract on a reduced salary

Brad Johnson, Nathan Eagleton and Scott Welsh (all over 30), come out of contract at the end of this year, however discussions on their future has been put off until after the Bulldogs' finals campaign

Lloyd has been told by Essendon that if he wants to go again then he can; it is entirely Lloyd's decision now

Max Bailey and Trent Croad both come out of contract this year and their futures are 'cloudy' at best due to long-term injuries both have sustained.

Added 11 Sep @ 1:45pm

Hall has indicated he would like to keep playing for at least 2 more years and will most likely nominate for the PSD. Several clubs have stated an interest in a power forward (though not in Hall specifically) and to date, Hall has only had brief discussions with the Dogs

Added 11 Sep @ 3:30pm

Tigers have unofficially offered Simmonds a 1-year contract

Carlton has agreed to facilitate a trade for Brad Fisher despite still having a year on his contract. There has been some interest from St.Kilda and Port Adelaide

Richmond have told Shane Tuck's manager that even though he has 1 year running on his contract, they would prefer to trade him - no interest as of yet

Added 12 Sep @ 10:15am

Aaron Davey is still unsigned with the Dees for next year, though there is no indication he wants to leave Melbourne

Added 14 Sep @ 9:15am

The Bullodogs have reportedly offered Lake a 4-year contract worth close to 1.8 million. Lake has yet to sign this contract, but it is now a 99% certainty that he will stay with them.

Added 14 Sep @ 10:05pm

S.Burgoyne has officially asked to be traded to an unspecified Melbourne club, though PA remain adament that he is a 'required player' next year. Removed from 'Rumours' section

Added 15 Sep @ 9:10am

Chris Tarrant has reportedly found little interest in Victoria due to his age and the fact that he still has 1 year to run on his Contract. Hawthorn, Carlton and St.Kilda had initially shown some interest, but have since backed off for these reasons. It is now looking likely that Tarrant will see his career out at the Dockers

Shane Tuck has reportedly agreed to being traded to another club by the Tigers, despite 1 year still running on his contract. No offers have been considered as yet

Shaun Burgoyne has told the club that he is willing to 'walk' and nominate for the PSD if they refuse to trade him. Burgoyne, who is out of contract, said he'd rather PA receive some compensation for him, but is adament that his time at the Power is up. In light of the Nick Stevens saga several years back, PA are expected to accomodate Burgoyne's request.

Added 15 Sep @1:10pm

At the moment, Hawthorn are said to be the front runners for S.Burgoyne who is rumoured to command somewhere around 2 million over 4 years

Burton, Goodwin, McLeod and Edwards are all coming out of contract this year. Both Edwards and Burton have signalled an intent to continue next year and Goodwin has said that all 4 are "reasonably keen" to play on next year. The main issue here seems to be whether the Crows can afford to keep all 4 of them for another year.

Added 16 Sep @ 9:00am

Despite the fact that everyone is confident of Lake signing a new contract with the Dogs, Lake has said that he won't even look at the Contract until after the finals. This shouldn't change things, though it may cause some doubt to grow in the Dogs' minds.. maybe.

Lloyd has requested more time from the Dons to make his decision. Technically the issue is about whether Lloyd wants to go around again, but secretly it's about Lloyd have a sooky-la-la moment about not being able to play in his favorite position.

Added 16 Sep @ 11:45am

Hawthorn have reportedly made an official inquiry into Surgoyne's availability for trade and have indicated a willingness to trade "high draft picks" to secure his services.

Added 16 Sep @ 5:10pm

North Melbourne will be looking to offload Daniel Harris, Sam Power and Matt Riggio this trade period. North have also suggested that Gibson was a required player at the Roos who is a big part of their 2010 campaign and they would not be looking to trade him; they have also said that they would not be entertaining any offers for David Hale, despite what the rumours are saying

Added 16 Sep @ 7:00pm

Des Headland is likely to sign a 1-year contract with the Dockers which will most likely see him finish his career out west

Added 17 Sep @ 9:10am

Spangher has officially requested to be traded to Melbourne, citing family as the reason. WCE are keen to hang on to Spangher and don't seem likely to offer him at a low price. Carlton, Collingwood and Hawthorn are the front runners for his services

Added 18 Sep @ 9:30am

Lloyd has gone to Essendon yet again and told them he needs more time to weigh up his future... Essendon have acquiesced however are rumoured to be beginning to plan for life without Lloyd in 2010

Richo has been urged on by Hardwick, his manager and the general manager of footbal operations at Richmond to go around again. Richo, however, is keeping the whole thing low key saying that he wants to see how his body holds up under 6-8 weeks of training before making a decision about 2010. It is widely believed that should Richo decide to go again, he will be offered a new contract without any hesitation

Carlton have stated their interest in drafting Bulldogs youngster, Andrejs Everitt. Everitt, who despite signing a new 2-year deal with the Dogs earlier this year, is said to be disgruntled with his position in the team, after being overlooked for finals action for the second time in as many years. Carlton have indicated a willingness to trade their 2nd round pick for Everitt, though, as a 1st round pick, he may cost substantially more than that

Brad Scott has openly declared that North forward, David Hale is off-limits to all clubs, despite his drop in form in 2009

S.Burgoyne has met with Melbourne, Essendon and Hawthorn and it appears that his first choice is to play with the Hawks. Adding further weight to this belief is the fact that Surgoyne is believed to have told the Hawks he was willing to sign a contract for 600k per season, whereas he is believed to have told Melbourne and Essendon he wants upwards of 750k per season. If a Hawthorn deal is to go ahead, the Hawks are expected to hand over their 1st round pick + a quality player, at least, and it is said that the Power are interested in Jordan Lewis

Added 19 Sep @ 10:00am

Burton is said to be a certainty to play on with the Crows next year, but no contract has been signed as of yet. Goodwin, McLeod and Edwards are all said to be near certainties to also play on next year

The Crows are said to be preparing a "mega package" for hot utility, Kurt Tippett. Although Tippett still has one year to run on his contract, the Crows believe it prudent to tie him down now, so as to avoid any chance of Tippett being lured to the Gold Coast by the almighty dollar

Essendon are said to be a certainty to offer up Lovett for trade. If a trade cannot be found, then Lovett, being uncontracted, will most likely nominate for the PSD

Brad Johnson is still a while away from considering his future next year, wanting to let the dust settle on last night's preliminary final loss before looking forward

S.Burgoyne will reportedly nominate his preferred team this weekend. Hawthorn appear to be the front runners, however Burgoyne knows he will have to except significantly less than what he wants to go there, so it may not happen. Chocco, in his brilliance, has compared the trade of Surgoyne to Victoria, to the Judd trade several years ago and has intimated that Surgoyne is just as valuable to them as Judd was to the Eagles and expects nothing but quality for any trade

Added 21 Sep @ 8:50am

Along with Carlton, Brisbane and Sydney, the Saints are now said to also be chasing the Dogs 3rd ruckman, in Andrejs Everitt. The Saints are also rumoured to be considering offering their 1st round pick for the big man

Rodney Eade has said that the Dogs are "continuing to explore" the option of drafting Barry Hall to help them with their forward line issues. If this deal goes ahead, it is expected to garner the Swans a 3rd or 4th round pick, at best

Added 23 Sep @ 9:20am

The future of Richmond's Graham Polak is still unclear. Polak has said he remains hopeful of gaining another contract with the Tigers and has not yet said what he'll do if Richmond don't offer him that contract

The futures of Aker and Eagleton still remains clouded. Aker is believed to be close to signing a new deal with the Dogs, whereas it is believed that Eagleton has been told that his negotiations would wait until after the trade period

Added 23 Sep @ 8:30pm

Following a request to be traded, the Dees and the Blues have reached an 'in principle' agreement to move McLean to the Blues for their 11th pick in the AFL Draft

Added 24 Sep @ 9:20am

Nick Stevens is expected to announce his retirement today after being told by the docs that he risks permenant damage to his neck if he plays on

Barry Hall is believed to be on the verge of signing a 2-year deal with the Dogs estimated to be worth close to 600k for the 2 years with protection for the Dogs against Hall getting suspended

Akermanis is expected to sign another 1-year deal with the Dogs that is expected to be worth close to half of his current 400k salary. Brad Johnson and Ben Hudson are also expected to play on for another year with the Dogs

Carlton are believed to have offered their 27th pick in the draft next year for Dogs youngster, Everitt. The Bulldogs are said to be inclined to accept this offer

Disgruntled Essendon player Andrew Lovett is expected to speak to Brisbane soon to discuss a possible move up north

Surgoyne had officially nominated Hawthorn as his preferred destination in 2010. PA however have said they will be playing hard ball and won't be trading Surgoyne to any particular club just because he wants to go there. PA have also said they will not be accepting Hawthorn's #9 pick on its own for Surgoyne

Added 25 Sep @ 9:40am

Despite initial belief that Lake had signed up to the Bulldogs 4-year deal (worth approximately 1.8 million), it has since surface that he is yet to actually put pen to paper. Reports state that there may be something deeper going on with Lake and that several clubs are beginning to chase him even harder given his apparent indecision over his future with the Dogs

Since losing McLean to the Blues, the Dees have moved quickly to re-sign indigenous star, Aaron Davey. Initially offering a 2-year deal, the Dees have reportedly now succumbed to Davey's request of 3 years. The Dees are also said to be interested in Surgoyne, despite his preference of playing for the Hawks

Despite reports suggesting otherwise, the Blues have come out and openly denied that Stevens will be retiring at the end of the year. The Blues are still hopeful that Stevens can return from yet another neck injury at some point in his career

Added 28 Sep @ 9:20am

Geelong skipper Tom Harley is still said to be undecided on what he will do next year. The Cats have left the decision to him Harley, saying that whatever he wants is what will fly

Fevola has been called into a meeting with club President, Kernahan today to apparently explain why he should be allowed to remain with the Blues next year. Fev's antics at the Brownlow last week are said to have angered many senior players and officials at Carlton to the point where they are seriously considering offloading this year's Coleman medalist. So far, Sydney are the only team said to be monitoring the result of Fev's meeting today

Stokes, Wojcinski and Blake are all out of Contract with Geelong, with superstars Ablett and Selwood also coming out next year. Geelong have acknowledged they will be fighting an uphill battle to retain their current team and still have enough in the cap to re-sign Ablett and Selwood next year. Geelong reportedly also have 9 other players out of Contract this year, but none from the regular senior team

Rumoured

Added 10 Sep @ 5:00pm

Mark Nicoski and Matt Spangher are out of contract with the Eagles and are apparently looking elsewhere. St.Kilda are rumoured to be interested in Spangher

Collingwood may offer Lloyd a 1-year contract if the Bombers don't keep him

Sandilands is said to want to come to Melbourne to play for a successful team. Hawthorn have shown real interest, but Freo coach has dismissed this suggestion as ludicrous

Added 11 Sep @ 10:10am

St.Kilda may be looking at Jordan McMahon, though there are no specifics on this yet

Added 11 Sep @ 3:30pm

Graham Polak is rumoured to get the chop from Richmond's list in the next few weeks

Added 11 Sep @ 4:20pm

Marcus Drum is rumoured to be seeking a trade from Freo to the Hawks - no word yet on trade deals or either club's reaction to this request

Added 12 Sep @ 10:15am

Brock McLean is still uncontracted for next year and is rumoured to be tempted at finding a new club

Added 12 Sep @ 1:30pm

Michael Newton is rumoured to get the chop from Melbourne's list, despite having a year to run on his contract

Added 14 Sep @ 9:15am

Dean Cox may be up for trade, according to the Sunday Footy Show - but this rumour has absolutely no substance whatsoever

Essendon and Collingwood are both said to be very interested in securing Taylor Walker's services

Carlton are keen on Matt Spangher and are rumoured to be meeting with him soon - a deal involving Joe Anderson has been pitched

It has been reported that Sydney are looking to trade Hall to WB for Lake... however in light of recent developments regarding Lake's contract with the Dogs, this has about a 0.5% chance of success

Added 14 Sep @ 2:10pm

Brisbane are said to be keen on chasing Carlton's Richard Hadley

Added 14 Sep @ 11:105pm

Pearce is rumoured to follow S.Burgoyne's lead and walk on the club in favour of a Melbourne-based club. *Note, this rumour comes from Hutchy so treat it with even less respect than you would any normal, run of the mill, rumour

Added 15 Sep @ 9:10am

Lloyd's time at the Dons is rumoured to be coming to a close due to the fact that Lloyd and Knights can't come to an agreement in terms of where Lloyd will play with the Dons next year - Lloyd wants to stay @ FF, whereas Knights would prefer to develop younger players such as Neagle. Lloyd is believed to have told some close friends and team mates that he does not expect to be with the Dons next year and he hasn't ruled out jumping to another club for 1-2 years if an offer was available

Nathan Brown is keen to continue his career at another club and it is rumoured that up to 4 undisclosed clubs are currently eyeing him as an 'X-Factor forward' ala Stewart Dew with the Hawks in 2008

Added 15 Sep @ 7:50pm

Sandilands has indicated that he is more likely to stay at Freo and that his "faith in his young teammates ability would be a big factor towards making that decision". Sandilands has even indicated that he would most likely be willing to extend his contract beyond 2010 if required.

Added 16 Sep @ 9:00am

Lovett is rumoured to have asked the Dons for more than 500k a year over 3 years... or else!

Discarded Tiger Mark Couglan has joined Nathan Brown in looking for a new club to extend his career for a few more years

Added 17 Sep @ 9:10am

Surgoyne is reportedly in Melbourne today to meet with his suitors, Hawthorn and Essendon. No details about Essendon, but it is rumoured that Port seeking Hawthorn's first round pick + Jordan Lewis for Surgoyone from the Hawks, despite Lewis still having 2 years to run on his contract. Hawthorn have said they are unlikely to let go of Lewis. It is also rumoured that Surgoyne is now asking for as much as 750k PER YEAR

Max Bailey has said he is "desperate to make a full recovery and return to AFL footy" after undergoing his 3rd knee reconstruction in as many years. Hawthorn are rumoured to be prepared to offer Bailey another contract, pending the final surgeon's medical report

Former Swan, Tadhg Kennelly may seek a new contract with the Swans, depending on the result of the All-Ireland Gaelic Football final this Sunday. Kennelly left the Swans at the start of 2009 to follow in his late father's footsteps by winning an All-Ireland title, and now that that appears a likelihood, Kennelly is said to be seeking a return to AFL footy. Paul Roos is over in Ireland for the final but has made no promises and vowed not to bring up Kennelly's return to the Swans until Kennelly is ready to talk about it. Roos is also rumoured to be meeting with Sydney's newest Irish prospect, Chris McKaigue while in Ireland

Added 18 Sep @ 9:30am

Carlton have apparently come out and denied the media reports that are linking them to West Coast defender, Matt Spangher

Added 21 Sep @ 8:50am

The Dogs have said that speculation they are after Lloyd and/or Bradshaw is way off the mark

Added 22 Sep @ 9:00am

Gibson has publically refused to commit to either the Roos, the Hawks or any other club. His future remains uncertain with most pundits calling it 50/50 on where he may end up (hence why it is now a 'rumour')

Luke Ball has admitted that he may struggle to keep his spot in the Saints team next year. There is also speculation that Sydney are showing some interest in picking up the midfielder

While Kennelly has yet to say anything about his future, speculation is still rife that he will make the move back to the Swans in 2010 after honouring his late father's memory by winning an All-Ireland medal

Added 23 Sep @ 9:20am

Lloyd has called a press conference today at 10am and is expected to retire from the AFL

Kennelly is almost a certainty now to turn his back on the Swans in favour of more All-Ireland glory - The Swans have constantly said they would love to have the premiership player back but that the decision will always remain that of Kennelly's alone.

King and Gardiner are both expecting to be offered a new 1-year contract soon. It is rumoured that coaching staff are very happy with the work the big men have produced and are keen to keep them both for another year whilst continuing to develop 2007 1st round pick, Ben McEvoy

Trent Croad is said to be optimistic about being offered another 1-year deal with the Hawks. Croad, if he can stay fit, believes he has several more good years in him and it is rumoured that the Hawks are keen to keep him if it's viable

The retirement of Scott Welsh has opened the door slightly to a possible move for Barry Hall to WB. WB management have had several discussions with Hall's management and Hall is expected to nominate WB as his preferred club next year

The Dogs are believed to have told Skipper, Wight and O'Shea that they will be delisted this year, if not traded

Added 23 Sep @ 3:45pm

There is a very heavy rumour amongst Demon circles that Carlton are interested in taking Brock McLean off their hands for picks 11 and 27. Included in this deal to Carlton would be Melbourne's 34th pick.

Oh, and FYI - the 'rumoured' section pertains to rumours that are reported by a news outlet.. it does not mean rumours that are started by SFF members...

With the speculation around the Saints trading there are rumours that the Saints have had discussions with McMahon, Staker and Spangher although obviously nothing concrete and probably the usual "is he available? Yup. Is he any good? You betcha! No way? Yeah I'm just pulling your leg. Coffee? Sure" talks.

Well you got 5 posts before the muppet hypotheticals started. Pretty good for this place.

Yeah I noticed... it's ok.. I'll just upkeep the thread as we get new info and I'll bump it for good measure.. unless editing the OP causes it to come up as a new post?

I hope there are alot of trades in the off season! The biggest ones talked about would have to be Sandilands and Lake..

I thinki GC will trade a few of their picks for gun players.
Because if you think about it they are going to have a bunch of 18-20yr olds who have never experienced AFL tempo. They will be smashed every week for 3 years.
A fair bit of trading next year me thinks

Yeah i agree, they will have to trade in a fair bit of experience, you would think they will need minimum 6-10 players who have played over 100-150 games.

Not just the tempo but also the body size and the leadership around the club.
